The Company

From one man selling typewriters to a company with thousands of machines to offer, CapX has a long road behind us, and a bright future ahead. Our story defines who we are – and we’d like to share it with you.

1960

CapX was started in the 1960’s by Nicholas Vassos. He was in the business of selling the period’s most sought-after document management technology. This equipment was, of course, the typewriter. Back then, salesmanship was all about people – not products, and he put a unique emphasis on building valued relationships with his customers.

As the document management industry has evolved alongside its technology, so too has our company. After selling the typewriter business to Sharp in 2007, the company was rebranded as CapX with the idea that one provider could serve all the document needs of modern business owners under one roof. These needs included a wide range of copiers and faxes – from plain paper to the latest digital color machines.

Even outside of our client relationships, we’re dedicated to supporting communities. Since 2011, CapX has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to hundreds of non-profits and charitable organizations.

Today our president, John Vassos, operates the business with the same values as his father. Document management isn’t about machines – it’s about people. Every piece of equipment we sell or service has a team of hardworking people behind it who rely on our ongoing support. Nicholas Vassos

Director

Nicholas J Vassos was born and raised in the D.C. area. He attended Georgetown University and graduated with a bachelor’s in science in business administration from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. After a brief stint is asset management, Nick decided to follow his will to become an entrepreneur. Realizing the success his grandfather Nicholas J. Vassos and his father John N. Vassos endured in the information technology sphere. Nick decided to follow in their footsteps.

He joined CAPX in the summer of 2017 as a sales representative. After proving himself competent both in business development and operations, Nick assumed the role of Corporate Director, which is where he resides today.

Nick Manis has served as a Sales Manager for CapX Office Solutions since 2017. He works in his hometown out of the CapX office in Annapolis, MD. In addition to working for CapX, Nick plays for the Chesapeake Bayhawks of Major League Lacrosse.

Prior to CapX Nick attended the University of Maryland where he studied business and competed on the lacrosse field. He was a captain of the 2017 National Championship team.

Jack Crabtree, a native to the area, is proud to be back working in his hometown of Annapolis. As a sales associate in CapX Solutions, Jack understands the importance of strategic relationships in the area. Graduating from Severna School (Severna Park) in 2012 Jack went on to study Sport and Entertainment Management at the University of South Carolina.

Following his time at USC, Jack went on to work as a financial advisor for an independent Raymond James office in Columbia, MD. There he helped develop and review multi-million dollar client portfolios. Jack joined the CapX team in the summer of 2018 and looks to continue providing clients with an exceptional experience. Jack knows that at the end of the day, every single client is unique and has to be valued and serviced as if they are his only client.
